The Prince and Princess of Asturias will pay an official visit to Portugal on May30-June1
In Portugal the Prince and Princess will be received by the President and the First Lady, will visit the Parliament and meet with the main political parties and attend a dinner hosted by the president and a lunch hosted by the prime minister. They will also deliver the “Europa Nostra” Awards, visit an Iberian Lab of Nanotechnology and take part in a Spanish-Portuguese business meeting.
Vanity Fair broke out the news, the Prince and Princess of Asturias went partying last Friday. I know you’ll think I am a “suck up” but I have to come out as a fan of theirs, they even know where to party. They went to Costello, a pub in Caballero de Gracia Street. Their strong point is the music, there are sessions from different DJs, all with great music knowledge and taste. I am a regular of the place, that’s why a waiter gave me a blow-by-blow account of the night.
Felipe and Letizia arrived around two in the morning with 30 friends. I have learned that they were Letizia’s close friends, her former colleagues, with whom she maintains an excellent relationship. They must be the reason why the future queen is up to date with all the changes in TVE.
The group went to the first floor, equipped for dancing, although they preferred a more private area near the bathrooms. And there they stayed until half past four in the morning, chatting and laughing, like a regular couple.
What I like the most from my waiter friend’s account is how they got along really well and how they truly love each other. The reader will think that is nothing exceptional, they are a couple after all! Not really, we all know how they are the only members of the Royal Family who have a real marriage, based on love and respect. It’s enough to make you want to call Jaime Peñafiel and tell him “Are you still unconvinced with their story?!”
What surprised my friend the most was that the bodyguards weren’t seen at all. “It was only obvious they had security when they left, and they were at least four or five” he tells me.
I’ve never been a monarchist, now even less, but Letizia and Felipe make me believe in the Institution and if they are the next generation, they make me see a more honest and respectable future.
