Queen Victoria Eugenia (“Ena”) of Spain chats with Princess Grace and Prince Rainier of Monaco on May 3, 1967, the eve of the marriage of the Infanta Pilar (daughter of the Count and Countess of Barcelona, Ena’s granddaughter, and sister of the current King Juan Carlos of Spain).
It has been said that Queen Ena took Princess Grace under her wing when Princess Grace was a new royal and the two maintained a close friendship. Queen Ena was the godmother of Prince Albert.
