Ecuador’s Foreign Affairs Minister Ricardo Patiño welcomes Prince Felipe upon his arrival at Mariscal Sucre airport in Quito. Don Felipe meets with the newly re-elected president this afternoon before meeting the Spanish community at the Ambassador’s Residence. Tomorrow His Royal Highness will attend the inauguration ceremony of Ecuador’s President Rafael Correa, who will be sworn in on May 24 for a second four-year term.

The Prince and Prince of Asturias held three audiences in the Palace of La Zarzuela.
A year ago, for their 8th wedding anniversary, Don Felipe and Doña Letizia visited a workshop in Málaga financed by their Hesperia Foundation. Today, one of the groups they received was formed by the mayor of Lorca and representatives from their special needs school. After suffering an earthquake in May 2011, the Hesperia Foundation, presided by the Prince and Princess of Asturias and founded with the inheritance money they received from a Mallorcan businessman, destined 25,000 euros to repair the structure of the school
The other two audiences were also focused on education, one was a representation from Alcorcón’s “Prado de Santo Domingo” High School and the other representatives from the University-Business Foundation of the Valencian University.
